Welcome to Healthy Haven! My name is Kerry and I was inspired to create this blog because of my passion for creating a healthy and happy life for myself and those around me. I am a fitness enthusiast and love finding healthy and natural recipes as an alternative to the not so healthy foods we love to eat. I am that person in my family that is always forwarding on health articles and nutritious low cal recipes that are full of flavor and way better for you than the fattening and processed versions. I love to spend time in my kitchen and try out new recipes.  My friends can always count on me to find the latest exercise craze and convince them to try it with me. I love to challenge my body with an intense work out and am constantly exploring different types of fitness routines.

On September 18, 2010 I married my best friend and college sweetheart. We have had over 3 wonderful years of marriage together and he has been my biggest supporter and cheerleader in life. My husband definitely reaps the benefits of my passion for cooking, as I try all of the new recipes I find/create on him. Luckily, he thoroughly enjoys my healthier alternatives to the typical “guy food” he loves to eat. Through his encouragement, I realized I wanted to share my love of healthy cooking and passion for living a healthy lifestyle with others. Now with a baby on the way, I am even more energized to create a healthy lifestyle for my growing family.

Like most women, there have been times in my life when I have struggled with finding the motivation to be physically active and eating right for my body to feel its best. I have taken time to explore different diets and fitness trends and have realized that no diet or fitness routine should have a “one- size- fits- all” approach. Everyone’s body is different and needs different things.  I finally feel like I have found the right balance for my mind, body and spirit and hope that I can inspire you to do the same.

I would not be where I am or who I am today without my faith and belief that God has a plan for me in my life, always leading me to my next adventure or challenge. If I trust in Him, I know He will guide me to finding my healthy haven. My goal with this blog is to inspire healthy living and well-being through food, fitness and faith. I promise to deliver delicious and nutritious recipes that you will feel good about and any advice I have discovered for finding a healthy balance in life.   Through my blog, I hope to encourage you to embrace the journey and find your own healthy haven.
